A society might be considered clinically insane when it approves the sales of alcoholic beverages, tolerates the sales of illegal drugs, then tries to legally ban the sale of large sugar content soda containers.
It is a testament to our times when we confuse unhealthy beverages, with toxic substances. However harmful excess sugar intake may be, it pales next to the consumption of liquor or narcotics, with a by product of drunken driving and drug overdoses.
Is the anti-sugar campaign a sincere concern for the health of our citizens, or is it a sneaky distraction from more disturbing problems? When we consider all the daily threats to our existence that seem to be multiplying, we might wonder why a mayor leads a crusade against sugar.
